Am I going potty? Where did the 'Raff' post go???

CCP, I followed your posts with so much empathy when my lad was off with a ligament strain. His was only 3 months and he pretty much turned into a different horse, so I have so much respect for your courage, determination, committment and love in coping with Raff over these past months.

You will make the best decision for him. I know so many horses who have been turned away for many different reasons and they have all come back in as good as, if not better, than when they went out. I second the others who say that a spell as a field ornament will do him no harm whatsoever, and will give you some valuable time to concentrate on 'me' for a change.

Let us know what you decide, but I have no doubt that Raff will only benefit from whatever that decision is.

Hun, you are so lovely I really wouldn't take it personally. I very much doubt TFC has the final say with matters like that and is probably only doing what he's paid to do.

I hope everything works out for you, I think I have been where you are with my old horse. Wrong horse, wrong me, wrong time (so not like the love affair with Raff :) ) I handled things wrong and buried my head for two months and it ended up REALLY bad for me so if you want to talk , please PM me.

I also didn't read the original post, but have read about Raff. I would echo the turn him away comments. We had a beautiful mare who stayed in the field and had the job of teddy to the other mares, for 12 years,as we could never trust her under saddle (Odd food issues and no way we could be sure that 'kind' people had not fed her). We loved her no less for her being unridable and she had a great life that she enjoyed right up to the end. Ignore the small minded idiots who cannot read/do not care to understand. As has been said by others, they are in the minority.
