Right for those of you on DIY livery if your horse was in a paddock would you fill the water trough or expect the yard staff to do it for you? Jack has been happily living out in one of the paddocks for the last couple of weeks - sometimes with other full livery and riding school horses and sometimes on his own - but due to ongoing building work (our indoor school) the automatic trough isn't working. Each night I go up and I make sure that the trough is filled to the top with water (yard staff do it in the morning). It's quite a palava as the paddocks are a fair bit from the hose. Anyway the yard staff have been thanking me profusely and asking me to "train" other liveries on how to be a good livery. I know they'd do it once the yard was finished anyway but I don't think it's a big deal to fill it up since my horse is one of those in that paddock. I just wondered if others would do the same or am I going above and beyond the call of duty?
