Am I just being selfish about Sol..?

I can't answer you all individually as I'd end up a sobbing wreck and I'd end up getting some strange looks (stranger than the ones I usually get!)

I know its the right thing , I do . But then why am I questioning myself ? What if its not the right thing , an I'm just missing something ? Or she's just lame because she's so used to being lame ?

How am I meant to know when/if its right . I can't make a decision , I can't .

Sooty - I feel selfish because I am giving up . I feel like I'm failing her by not having any 'fight' for her anymore . I just feel like i've accepted that everyone else was right ..

Sorry about all the problems you are having. I'm just not sure from your posts how lame she actually is? When you posted the video of Sol on the lunge a couple of weeks ago, not everybody picked up on the fact that she was slightly lame. Was she on bute at the time?

If she is really lame at the moment, it probably doesn't help her standing in the stable all the time. If I were you I would wait until you can turn her out full time and then reassess the situation. You need to be sure in your own mind that you are doing the right thing, and until you have given turnout a try you will never know for sure.

PTS can be hard to live with unless the decision has been taken out of your hands, so you need to give yourself time to be sure in your own mind that you are making the right decision. Once you have done it there is no going back.

Well you don't have to rush into anything. Give it a week or two before making a final decision. You will know what is the right thing to do when you have had a chance to draw breath - this has all happened very quickly.

No she wasn't on Bute before she went to Langford .
She is out for 7/8 hours a day now and is noticeably lame on painkillers .

She must have gone downhill quite quickly then since she came back from the vets. If she's lame in walk on painkillers then that puts a different slant on things.

I do sympathise with you as I am going to have to make a hard decision about one of mine at some point. At the moment he's still enjoying life, so there is no decision to make, but if he gets to the point where he can't be happy just being a (pampered) horse then I will have to call it a day.

Hopefully your vet will help you come to a decision.
