I thought I could find a second hand leather saddle for £150-175 or less. Only really for hacking....I went to my saddler today and he had nothing under £250 have I lost the concept completly? Really not bothered about condition other than being sound and fitting my mare.

i'd be thrilled if i could have found a saddle for £250 that fits i've just ended up spending a fortune............ Which i can ill afford. but it was the ONLY one that fitted properly and it's taken 4 months to find it.

Try putting an advert on Preloved with the size you need and see what comes up, I know quite a few who get a lot from there.

I paid €350 for a stuben saddle last year, used it 5 or 6 times and am trying to sell it for €200, no takers. It's in mint condition, not a mark, but people just want things for nothing. I'll keep it before i'll give it away. I think your price range is ok, you should pick up a saddle for that price, it would be roughly the same amount as the price of my saddle. Oh, I'm not trying to sell you my saddle, just using it as a comparison pricewise!!!!
