I'm afraid my OH would have been back at the parents with his 'I made an error' speech. No way would I do this.

You have been too nice and if you want it to stop, either put down your foot and set limits or stop the arrangement or make an arrangement for their parents to supervise, help and pay!

I would go for the white lie if I were you...........bad I know but the lesser of the evils I think. I would either tell the parents, or if not possible tell the children, that unfortunately your work hours have changed so that from now on you will be doing the ponies during school hours, what a shame :D However its been really great knowing them and wish them all the best with their riding in the future, somewhere else :D

I find posting pictures of accidents on fb, big bruises scare people off. I am also very clear about my yard does not let under 16's and due to my friend who is at an equine collage and nothing to ride both horses is dangerous to be on ground with they buck rear etc.

ps i know im not good at sharing lol
