I would also have the foal PTS, even with the op I doubt it would be ever 100% comfortable, it does say on one of the pages I've read that if the op is a success the foal will still only be suitable as a field ornament for the rest of it's life

Another perfect example of if you breed from the mare be prepared for the responsibility and cost of doing best by both animals. Absolutely sickening, I wonder if I set up a Facebook page wanting people to pay for our horses navicular treatment would they do it? No because she isn't cute (well she is in our eyes)

I totally agree with the posts so far, either PTS or get the op done ASAP.
Just another sad case of people owning horses that either cannot afford the expense or listen to the local yard 'know it- all / do gooder' that really knows Jack*****.
Although I totally agree that this is a rare case, and am fully aware of the insurance issues surrounding foals, I would not even consider breeding a mare if I did not have sufficient funds, or emergency plans in place, to cover possible eventualities.
In today's society £1500 is not that much money, in all honesty, I would beg and borrow from friends/family for the cash if I did not have the money. Not appeal on social media sites.
But that's just my opinion on what I see as a growing trend in the horse world during current times sad really
