Make a stink, money stealing beeps! Give them a VERY bad feedback, and get hold of ebay, they will help you, and if you paid through paypal you will have a good chance of getting your money back. Also contact the seller.
Don't stop complaing until you have the other boot or you money back!!
As someone who makes part of their living through ebay this kind of attitude makes me mad!!!
If you bought, i don't know, lets say a toaster from your local electrical shop and the plug was missing off it would you instantly call trading standards and watchdog and then stand outside the shop with placards???
Or would you just pop back in with said toaster and the receipt and explain the problem whereby the shop would most likely apologise for the inconvenience and replace the item?
Ebay sellers are governed by distance selling laws which basically doesn't give us a leg to stand on and leaves us open to abuse from certain individuals who like to get something for nothing.
Is it too much to ask to just contact a seller with a problem, sure if they ignore you then unleash hell but its unfair to give someone bad feedback without voicing a complaint and allowing them to fix it.
Dead simple - if you're one of those people who's suspicious of internet selling then don't buy off it!
OP - glad you got it sorted, but I agree they could at least have emailed you to apologise.

Yep, or like the buyer I had recently who said my delivery time was slow - I posted it the day after their cheque cleared. !
