Jack is a very dominant little thing and has been a really steep learning curve but i feel that after having him since October I've made great improvements with him - he's also the only dog in training that has a consistent recall!

I have been thinking about getting another dog to keep him company and a nice bitch has come up (please see attached thread) but I'm worreid that I'm just doing it out of guilt of what's happened last week and that i'm subconciously worried that Jack will never settle in the flat again.

I'll also have to give up smoking to afford her dog walking aswell, but I guess it's a small price to pay!!!

Views please?

Dogs are pack animals, and tend to thrive on canine companionship, I think he will be fine, and the meet in the park will tell you, in his response

No I don't think your nuts. I think its a good idea. I had a one year old excitable male Jack Russell when I introduced a new bitch puppy and they have been fine. I am now three years down the line and the dogs get on brilliantly. They play together, sometimes snooze together but also do their own thing. Now I can't imagine having one dog. I think its nice (and natural) to have more than one dog - I'm considering adding another!
By the way, I thinks it the right thing to introduce them on neutral ground in the park - hopefully, they'll be able to use excess energy playing.

ahhhhh well hopefully Im doing the right thing. The owner obviously loves her and has said I can have her for a week to make sure they get on....fingers crossed. x

I don't think you are nuts. Getting a second dog was the best thing we ever did

.

Sounds like it is the perfect situation too, being able to have a trial period will be really useful, but I think you'll know straight away whether it'll work out or not

Good luck.
