Am I over-rugging??

mines hunter clipped and in a medium combo day and night- but she is a tad bit too warm in the day tbh, she would be frozen in a lightweight so id rather have her a tad too warm than standing shivering- but if she was really warm then i'd puther medium standard neck on (just dont like her clipped neck out!) and she is living out 24/7 on a fair bit of feed.

I woud just back up what others have said about the hay, give more hay as it sounds like your old horse needs a bit more than usual- and maybe add some mix for warmness calories? i hate seeing fleeces on under rugs, or layered rugs at all tbh as the ones underneath always seem to slip and rub, get wet and make the horse colder by being so tight they do not have an insulating layer or the wetness making them colder. depends on the rug i guess, i suppose two turnout rugs wouldnt do this
