Am I right to be annoyed?

Heres the back ground- I'm on a small private yard with 4 boxes and 6 acres. There are 4 horses there at the mo. My colt, a loan horse, YO horse and another livery. We all get on well and the horses are really settled. YO is on holiday in cornwall. Today at 6pm I turn up to find the 4 acre paddock has been fenced off in half and in one half is a new horse. No one told me it was coming. Me and the other livery dont even know its stats- we dont know its name/age/if its been wormed/vaccinated.
The boys are all a bit unsettled but my youngster is really bad- he was calling when on the yard (he has never done this before)- hes been really spooky- when he is normally sooooo chilled its amazing and worst of all I brought him in with poo all down his hind legs.

I KNOW there's nothing I could have done - but what if he had been injured? or if that horse had jumped out and kicked him and I was hours away? My pony is a show pony intended to be a stud stallion- so it is vital he is unblemished- they all know this. Also we only have 4 boxes- but now have 5 horses..........

am I within my rights to be annoyed no one had warned me?
 
Think you are perfectly within your rights to be cross. I was fuming when I went up to find that someone had turned out a new filly in season next to mine who as in a 12 ft square pen after a suspensory pull (could not be kept in). when i got there they said that he had been trying to run around _ i'd only left him for a few hours. I was furious to say the least and gutted that someone feels its ok to risk your animal.
 
Well I would be annoyed that 1 horse has 2 acres and 4 horses have 2 acres!!!!?

Why do newbies get the "priority" ?

And yes i think it is rather rude on such a small yard that no-one had the decency to talk to each other. I have just moved one of my horses out of the "big herd" field into a smaller field with only 5 or 6 horses. I went out of my way to let all the other owners know that a new one was going in the "herd" next day and did they want me to do anything i.e. put boots on, put theirs out first, put them in the diary to be left in so owner could supervise etc.

Not one of them complained and each of them thanked me for asking. Guess what? no issues with any of the horses and 5 texts at various stages of the day telling me how settled all the horses were.

But becareful incase the new horse belongs to the owner of the stables, is the bestiest mate of the yard manager etc.... i usually manage to slag off the person i should be the nicest too (lol)
 
I am most annoyed because i want told- It was as though I was kept out of the loop- the Yo is on holiday so wouldnt even have been present if there were probs. Not sure where this horse is going to go in bad weather?
 
prob would have been good manners to let you all know,so you could keep an eye on your horses ,also what about contagious diseases ,sorry dont mean to scare you
 
If horse has no stable watch out for "little prezzies" being left either inside or outside your stable. We occasionlay have "visitors" who think nothing of putting their horse from OFF the yard into your neatly mucked out, hayed up and fresh watered stable.

Oh and if they aint bad enough they muck out there horse box and "throw" there muck into your just wormed herds field. Nice word the horse world is isnt it?
 
Absolutely LOL. We had a new livery in, who after he was chucked in with my lot, we started to notice that she would poo pick the nice flat bit on the bottom of the field (She had done her bit of course!) Leaving me and OH to do the steep hilly other 3 acres. I only had three squidget ponies at the time, she had a 16.2 elephant producing mound monster. I was not impressed

When i moved to my yard ( 5 horses) about week before i would go up and move stuff up and get my stable ready i made a point of socialising with everyone and swapping numbers in case something happened. My horse was put in a settle in paddock that i asked for (1 acre) till i found out who was around him in park i signed lease on (6 acre park to my self) to make sure they were all wormed ect. (he was done day he arrived) when it came to me putting him in his park i found it was halved and i have 3 foals and 2 Nanny horse in one side. i was all right with it my horse doesn't need 5 acres over 1 season!

so i spent 4 hours with kids poo picking and month later she moves and leaves her poo behind!

Best thing you can do i speak to the new arrivals owner explain that other horses need more field and move tape if you can! also what type of horse is it? is it a hardy horse? if its a warmblood type that prefer to live in then drop hints about stabling and see what she says, Things like "Oh i didn't know horses like yours liked to live out all year" and judge her reaction if she thinks she getting a stable then can u padlock yours or don't do your bed (bank it up)

had to many experiences of this so want to have my own yard!
