Agree with PF - everything about chicken nuggets, the way the animals are treated to the process and what nastiness actually makes it into the nuggets, is WAY more disgusting than anything about horse poo!! I have no qualms about picking up the odd bit with my hands - they get washed - what's the problem? In my opinion cat poo is about the most revoling you can get though!

No, but I did read Fast Food Nation by Eric somebody or other. Never, ever, ever again will I eat fast food not just because of how bad it is for you but the whole industry is a disgrace and just not how food should ever be produced.

Mucking out the litter tray takes only a minute compared to the 15 for the stable but I know which one I would rather do. I enjoy my time in the stable; the litter tray makes me want to gag!!

Oh, you're brave to read that. In the Supersize Me extras there was a pretty extensive interview with that chap, and it really freaked me out!! I keep telling people about beef from over 1000 cows (he says in the interview he got it wrong in the book) goes into one burger, all in the interest of keeping the same taste worldwide... yuck yuck yuck!! He also mentioned how the cattle were kept in such 'intensive' conditions (ie; up to their knees in their own sh:t) that they had to be pumped full of antibiotics...
Fortunately, we don't have a McDonalds in my town!!! Also beef here is FAR too good to justify going (IMO at least) to a Mc or King to satisfy a meat craving....

I pick out any small bits that I've missed with my hands and only wash my hands when I get home in the evening. I have seen my YO pick up fresh sloppy droppings on the yard with her bare hands, ewww...
