I just spent £55 on a set of shoes for Banjo, yet my work shoes are falling apart!! Am I the only one who seems to spend more on the horse than on myself? Was going to go and get my shoes re-soled rather than fork out for another pair (unless they are from primark, hehe!)

Nope, your not the only one!

My horse has got a much better wardrope that me!

No - I am thoroughly skint....horse is having physio tonight, then farrier tomorrow then livery payment is due. He has way more rugs than I have clothes and I get a new set of shoes once a year if I am lucky!! He is the pampered one and I am the pauper....But I guess if I didn't want to live this way I wouldn't have a horse. I just avoid the shops in town because I see all the things I can't afford to buy!!!!!

Jeez - I spend in excess of £1200 a month on horses at the moment - I couldn't imagine spending even half that much on myself!

I'd be really well off if it wasn't for horses! As it is, they all get the new togs, luxury accommodation, the finest cuisine - and I'm lucky if I go out to eat once a month, and can afford one or two clothes shopping trips a year .... as for shoes, forget it! What we do for love, eh?

the kids wanted shoes that were 65pnds, no way i said passing over 60 pnds to farrier for shoes that last 5 wks: i did feel a bit guilty, they didnt get them though, fobbed them off with a cheaper pairs of clarks shoes
