Am so pi$$ed off

Dizz lives out, so is not an issue. I can lunge her in the mornings, when head is up to it; daughter can too
smile.gif

Instructor is going to ride her on Sunday, going to see if daughter can handle her as well. Will be interesting!

I get paid by the day, and this lot are keen on it being a proper day as opposed to the 'I'll do what I can and make up the hours as I go' type of day that others are usually happy with
grin.gif
. Ah well. Only four weeks or so left, and I'm on week's notice with this lot. Life can change very quickly! Will tweak c.v. and see what can get going. Just wish blasted head would get with the programme
wink.gif
cool.gif

Mmmm - not surprised you are pi$$ed off
d015.gif
- I would be!! Feel free to eff and jeff

as much as you like and get it out of your system. Sadly with head stuff the neurologists do know best blah blah blah.....*rolls eyes*

Good move getting the Dizzy ridden by RI - see if there are any freelancers aorund that will come and school once a week? They are probably used to riding neds with special needs - its a dumblood thing!!
wink.gif
grin.gif

As far as work is concerned can OH drive you or are you on box rest for a while?
confused.gif
If so can you use the time to drum up some more business in between naps and hot chocolate?

*hands over packet of chocolate digestives*

Sorry to hear your having a tough time Mrs M. At least you are still here! It could have been worse and i know its upseting and annoying but your health is very important, so you must take your time to recover. These things often take much longer than you think but better to fully recover than risk making yourself ill.

Hope you feel better soon.

p.s. chocolate helps for recovery, thats a well known fact
grin.gif

Pfft, I see your ten weeks, and raise you 9 months, and the likelihood of never riding your lovely mare ever again!
tongue.gif

Seriously though, I know how awful you must be feeling right now
frown.gif
(((big hugs))) and take it easy. xxx

Ta all, again
grin.gif

I know Puppy. Lost m'mare last year - still remember the last ride on her. I remember what I thought was going to be the last ride on the Dizzy one.

When I'm down I admit I think of you and wonder how you stand it
blush.gif
. You are my grounding thought (I mean that in a good way, but I have a battered head so who knows how it will come across the ether!
wink.gif
smile.gif
).

If it weren't that it is the umpteenth time since I've had Dizz, added to it the year I had with Tiggy... Ah well. Such is how it goes
smile.gif
.

Yup, all crossed Dizz will be a star for daughter. She's ridden her once before and Dizz had a bit of a strop - daughter did the Thelwell Kick and the look of surprise on Dizzy's face! I don' think she knew daughter was on top lol. Was funny. Fingers so tightly crossed that Sunday will be as funny
smile.gif

Mahooooooooooooooooosive hugs! I know all too well what it's like being stuck not able to ride.

You'll just have to be chief judge for something I'm plotting at the yard!

It's going to suck but you'll get through it and be really ready to get back on when you're fit and well.

With getting saddle fitters, back people etc out it will probably that long before everything's been checked and ok'd!!!!!

You'll have to bully that daughter of yours to ride the skanky tb's more and shout distructions from the ground!!!

Mrs M....I'm with you on the sh*t year thang....except you beat me on the brain injury thingy!!

seriously a bleed on the brain is a BIG thing, so you MUST take it easy and rest and do as you are told. Its a huge disappointment not being able to ride, I know only too well, but you will get better and the time will go by quicker than you think. Please take it easy xx

Lol Wimbs, like daughter needs any bullying to ride the TBs!
grin.gif
. She hasn't stopped grinning since whatever day it was
grin.gif
. Be my guest to make use as much as you like - she won't mind!

Hm to your plans - am I old enough?!
cool.gif

SF - def don't try the bleed on the brain, it's bleedin' boring! And somewhat annoying
blush.gif
, amongst other things lol. Hugs your year gets better.

Hugs, but not suprised Mrs M. You had quite a bang. You've gotta look after yourself.

Enjoy the enforced rest. And don't eat too many cakes!!!!
grin.gif

Hi Mrs M - I know how you feel, remember I broke my collar bone in February and what was initially a six week healing process turned into over six months ... and some and I'm still hurting.

I know it is a pain and you are totally fed up by in comaprison to the time you will have to spend riding when you have been given the all clear this healing time for you will pass relatively quickly, I am sure.

You can still do plenty with Dizzy - groundwork, lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of grooming and fussing?!

Your health is the most important thing here so take things easy and before you know it you will be back in the saddle.

Best wishes xxx

My plans are the "Yard Olympics"

Fun for all the family!

Please can you hold the Yard Olympics when I come and visit

I think I could win .. something

C - I am going to Sunderland for 6days (alone

Mrs M - nil desperandum! At least it's coming up to the grotty time of the year when the dizzy one can have an enforced (relaxing??) time.

I had an enforced rest a few years ago when I fractured my spine and head of femur (bless the dear home-bred boy -NOT!) in several places. It was amazing how quickly I came to terms with it - if I hadn't, then........there's another story! "They" are doing this for a reason, however difficult it is to accept - chin up dear girl and "kick on"....whenever you are allowed to do so!!
wink.gif

It will go by in no time and then you will once again have no time to do anything but the horses! Catch up on all those jobs you meant to do in the last....however many years! Even try to get ahead of yourself!

Are you allowed to go for walks? I wasnt able to ride or drive for a long time but did loads of walking and found lots of local paths I had never discovered. It sort of kept me sane! I know it is hard when you are not sane before an accident but it did help to stop any deterioration in my case! !"£$R$%&^&)*_))(_+((&*whhoopsy diddly do! im a banana!

Hugs Mrs. M

I wrote a whole post for you yesterday on this thread and the B*&^%* thing has disappeared
mad.gif
so I can only assume that once again my techno incompetence or stupid internet connection has let me down!

It was along the lines of :

Do what you are told by the nice doctor people
Look after yourself
You and Dizzy are young yet and when you are once again hale and hearty you will have many happy years together.

Not quite as nicely written as it was yesterday, but the sentiments are still there

Have a good day in the office.

That's not good, but hopefully it'll pass before you know it. Chin up, there's plenty you can do from the ground when you're feeling up to it. I get neuralgia quite often and my riding hat just aggravates it and I can't ride for long periods (though not as long as you at the moment) so I know a little of how you're feeling.
frown.gif

Just go to sleep in your meetings, I'm sure no-one will hold it against you

It will be worth it when you're all better and can start properly without having to worry. You know you need to be safe, you had a lucky escape. Lots of HHO and hot chocs to pass the time. Can you lunge Dizz or does her pelvis cause her trouble? What about a bit of long reining?

[/ QUOTE ]

You're right. I can do all that.

Was having a hiss-fit moment

It would really be my worst nightmare not being able to ride. I have only had to stay out of the saddle once and that was when i got sciatica but i was due on holiday 3 days later so it didn’t feel that bad as i wasn’t sat at home, thank god.

I hope you heal quickly and strongly, good luck trying to stay sound of mind!!!!

Lol, 'tis the mind that is in question

Oh pants!!! Very frustrating for you!

Will NOT say "get on earlier"!!! Head injuries can take a while to heal and you should take all the time off suggested by the doctors. It is very frustrating and very difficult, but I hope the time goes by a lot faster than you think now.

Ta hun

I'm sure it will! I've found eating helps

As someone who had a very similar accident to you last year. Flew out of front door, via head at 10000mph!!! DO NOT even think about getting again til the all clear Mrs, and thats an order!!!

I did get on, but was so wonky, and out of sync I fell straight back off first spook.

I've been meaning to post on your other updates.

The sypmtoms you describe are all normal. As you say it's not something that gradually gets better unfortuanely, one day will be good then another bad, but the good days will gradually outweigh the bad.

Chin up hun. The dizzy one will still be gorgeous, and you'll be fghting fit, the 2 most important things.

I really feel for you - took me nearly 2 years before I really got started with my horse and it has been a slow progress with many ups and downs along the way....though I haven't had any injuries, they were all the horse's. Gentle *hugs* and get well soon vibes!

That's just how I feel

Had a year with Tiggy, and whilst I wouldn't alter the fact that I knew her, add this year to it all and.... Ho hum
