It only ever happens to me Im sure. Sent saddle away to be adjusted to saddler in black country ( I have albion K2).Well sent it via post office as safest to signed for etc etc/ Anyway was getting worried so rang him to ask if he had it yet and he hadnt. Anyway got home to a letter from a man who said he had had it delivered to his house by mistake and could I ring him. Panic !!!!!!!
rang saddler and told him, he was en route from manchester so he said it was a couple of doors down and he would go and get it. I have literally just spoke with man after ringing him about 100m times and he sounded a bit weird but I thanked him very very much, He was a 64 yo batchelor. Anyway he finished by telling me he could keep it and sell it on ebay as he hadnt signed for it ( damn royal mail they will feel my wrath tomorrow). I got a bit upsat and asked him not to and My saddler would come right away. He did as I said he better or I would want a replacement . He then rang me to apologise and to tell me he is a weirdo and was pi**ed.
Anyway he now has my precious saddle and Im now relaxed slightly

How lucky or unlucky am I. And Im really really mad with PO whats the point in paying for a service if you dont get it!!

OMG! How stressful?! I think you were lucky to get a minor weirdo. How can he not have signed for it? Royal Mail is a joke these days. Kick up a fuss, and see what they do.

I know exactly what you mean, I ordered some concert tickets recently, were meant to be recorded, signed for delivery, and were just dropped through the letterbox!! And I paid nearly 5GBP for EACH ticket in delivery charges! Takes the piss, doesn't it?

on the bright side though, if you'd sent it by Special Delivery you can state how much Ins for the item...so you would get a minimum of £500 back from them if it was lost.

hope you saddler does manage to wrestle it away from the nutter!!

Trouble is an Albion K2 is at least £1000 I think.

Matt was great and got it back. Just hope I get it back ok!! I cant wait actually had to send it to have the seat covered after it got scuffed to death by my trainer, and it needs re flocking.
Anyway posters beware

Glad your saddler now has your saddle. I HATE ParcelForce and Royal Mail. They cause me so much grief it is untrue. I run a mail order company and we have to use the postal system for our smaller orders and they are cr*p so I am not at all surprised by what happened to you. I would ask your saddler to return it via courier if he can and make sure that they offer at least £1000 insurance whilst it is in transit.

you can actually state which level of insurance you require..up to 2.5k

Lucky! Glad to hear that you tracked it down.

I used to send out all my rosette orders via mail order, Parcel Force was a total joke and once lost a 2,000 pound order! I used to use Citi Link who were brilliant, they collected from my door and in 5 years never lost a single item.
