Honestly, I could cry. :(

First of all, I was offered a 7 year old springer bitch because the owners just 'don't' want her anymore and she never gets walked. Another dog walker told us as we were getting back from doing retrieval with the babies. I'd take her in a flash but the OH quite rightly says we have 3 and should focus on them: the pups are only 8 months and not properly trained yet.

Then I met a lovely old couple with their ancient heinz 57, lovely lab sized cross who is 17. It's so unfair that we had Jakey taken from us at 7. :(

Then to top it all, there was an ad for a 5 year old springer whose owner no longer have time for him. 'affectionate, lively dog'. Heartbreaking. For me, it would be like giving away a child.

So depressing. :( The straw that broke the camel's back was the 2 advert, one for huskies-would apparently make great family pets at £2400 each and an ad for bichon 'freis'. If you can't even spell your breed's name, you should not be breeding.

Cheerfully, tho, I bumped into the fabulous person who took Boomerang to the RVC when he broke his leg and I saw a husky convention, about 15 of them, all off lead and behaving beautifully. Brig was super brave and walked through them without dying of fright. :)

You have to develop a bit of a shell, or it would break your heart:( I honestly don't know how people can bear to do it, I know sometimes there is no choice and that in itself is heartbreaking, but some people just clearly don't care:(

Is the place fenced where the sibeys where oFf?

I hate looking at advert boards few weeks ago when I went home there was one place that had 4 litters of sibes advertised pups all seemed around 12-13 weeks old obviously not selling :(

I try not to look on add sites anymore because it upsets me too much to see people getting rid of their older dogs like they are an old car. Its even worse when people are trying to make money from them.

No, it was in the woods, thousands of acres, no fences except the bit where there are sheep. Some of them do scootering, one girl told me.

I wasn't looking at ad sites. The husky advert was in a tack shop, other in partners pet store, st Albans along with the bichon 'freis'.

Brave people, I let mine off but only in enclosed areas my malamute on the other hand I'm quite happy to let off in the majority of places as long as there's no loose livestock as she sticks to me like glue

I do some work for our breed rescue and I'm horrified at some of the cases we get. We've had dogs of 12 and 13 that have had to be collected on the same day because the owners 'don't have time and it isn't fair on the dog...'and other such rubbish. Some people are so irresponsible. I'm sure it has got worse over the years but maybe I'm just getting old and intolerant!
