Amazing coincidence

I always used to think that a particular fairly successful NH racehorse looked like my old horse and even went to our local racetrack and the yard's open day (both near to my home, not really a stalker) to see the horse in question. Then a few years later they were both in the local vet's stable block together. Now last week a friend told me that there was a horse at her yard who looked like my old boy (who is sadly no longer with us). She e mailed me last night and told me the name of the horse - yes it is the same now obviously ex-racehorse.

I always thought it was my imagination that they looked so similar but obviously not. Am off to visit him soon as I can (and possibly kidnap him!).

Have you looked back at your horse's breeding and that of the racehorse? Might be a common factor along the line.

we had a weird coincidence too recently.
My old welsh cob was sadly pts last summer, aged 28. He was 15hh, almost black in the winter, with 'yellow' dapples under his tummy in the summer. He had a perfect diamond star, two hind socks and a little circular scar/hairless mark on his bum.
A friend had her welsh mare in foal last year and although she'd told me the foal had been born in august, I hadn't seen him. Saw it a few weeks ago, and it is identical to my old boy, including the little scar on his bum . Obviously, he's not 15hh yet, but it does look like he'll be there abouts. I even got photos out to compare his socks and they are just the same. scary really.

weird how these things happen isn't it, makes you wonder who's watching over us!
