Wow, I got Yaktraks yesterday after being recommended by a friend who is a countryside ranger and spends a lot of time outdoors.
They arrived at lunchtime, after I had spent the morning sliding, wobbling, using a walking stick and general defying gravity whilst out pheasant beating. Put them on at lunchtime (5 minute job the first time, but 30 seconds the second time once I had it figured out - they literally just stretch on over your boots), to the amusement of the other beaters, then proceeded to walk perfectly normally all afternoon, including up and down steep slopes that had everyone else clinging to fence posts and trees. Needless to say lots of the others were going home to buy some!
Cannot recommend highly enough. Only £20 too. I bought them in a grump having fallen 3 times one day this week, and wish I had bought them 2 months ago when first recommended to me.
So thought I'd share the info and hopefully save some fellow HHOs some bruises or worse.
Now, if only they'd make horse shaped ones...
