I went down for a ride this morning before work. It's the first time I have ridden and led without following my friend on her horse.

Monty was a star!

He is nappy and lazy at the best of times so I was worried about going out alone but both him and Zoom were perfect. It was a really beautiful morning and we even went for a little canter with Zoom following beautifully beside!

It definately sets me up for the day.

Hi ya, long time no speak. Glad you had a lovely time riding before work. Would love to have the energy to do all that before work ! just turning out and mucking out at 6am does me in for the day !! (must be an age thing) x

Aw, that's a lovely post.

I love being up the yard before work, it really sets me up for the day, even though I'm just mucking out! I get all my stable chores out of the way in the morning, means all I have to do after work is bring her in and feed, plenty time to ride if I am, if not, I get an early night. I'd love to ride before work but I'd have to get up at about 5am and I don't think I'd cope, plus after a ride I'd not want to go to work!

What a great feeling horses give you
 
Sounds lovely. I had a nice ride before work this morning too, the mist was still quite low over all the fields we could see over and it looked so pretty and bizarrley the moon was still out even with a brilliant pale blue sky. Also took a georgous very fit TB who only came out of the trainers yard last week for a gallop and managed to a. stay on before, during and after and b. stop at the end. Didn't have much control over speed in the during part but well chuffed I managed it without too much drama! Am now sitting at work with slightly achey arms - never mind the horse, I need to get fitter!
