These people have truly amazing techniques in training horses. Total harmony and joy to watch.
How many of us could even hope to stay on without a saddle I wonder.

I thought the ultimate aim in Parelli was to be riding your horse like this, but I ve not read any books on the subject only seen a few bits of Parelli video.
I guess I had better look it up as most people seem to be anti -Parelli on the forum.
Is it because they always just seem to do loads of in hand work?, I know the articles in mags about it, like Your Horse seem like a big yawn!

I think the main objection on HHO to Parelli is the Evangelical attitude of some of its devotees; they'll insist theirs is the ONLY way to achieve a true bond with your horse, and that the rest of us are cruel to shoe, ride, jump etc. They act as if they've found enlightenment when in fact a great deal of Parelli and NH is common sense and the rest is nonsense; WHAT purpose is served by bouncing a ball off a horse's head??
Also, From what I've seen on videos on youtube (so the general public!), most of Parelli-ites appear to be scared of/intimidated by their horses. They don't appear to discipline them and lots of the horses are nipping, look cross/ bored to tears. Also, a great many Parelli-trained (I use the word loosely) appear to end up on Project-horses.
I'm sure that the objective of Parelli IS that kind of bond with your horse, but how interesting that Stacy didn't achieve it through Parelli, or NH, with a carrot stick or waving a rope in a horse's face; she started with a saddle and a bridle and she rode her horse.
