In that case the big horses shouldnt be in the advert either as they cant say whether they want to participate or not. These adverts wouldnt happen without experienced handlers to safeguard the welfare of the horses.

Yes the tiny pony appears lame but there is no need to get so worked up about it, it's just an advert.

But its not real! Nobody's talking about horses turned out in a real field. It's just...an advert. Pedantry to the extreme I feel...I'm sure most adverts could be picked apart by people who know a bit about the subject. And indeed filns and tv. We all know friesians were not the mount of choice for practically everyone from the Victorians back to the Celts and beyond, yet so many productions use them. Who cares? There is such a thing as artistic licence.

Well, exactly: it's a fantasy. There are so many ways to produce the images in post production you may all rest easy that there was no danger to the animals from the caravan or other inappropriate equipment. The little dwarf pony, on the other hand, is a rather sad article.
 
The issue for me is that this dwarf is what many people believe a miniature horse is. We are never going to be taken seriously as miniature horse breeders/enthusiasts if this is the standard people expect. That is all. The rest is just whatever.

Why couldn't they have just used a cute little miniature?
 
Non horsey (and judging from a lot of posts on my dwarfism thread horsey people too) believe this is a miniature horse. The "special needs" thing is wasted on them entirely. Everyone I know is saying to me "have you seen the advert with the little pony like yours" and it's a bit frustrating.
