This is not a new story, and there have been others since. But this mare's story, which I have just read, touched my heart. She won £400k on the track, produced nine foals, and then was chucked on a wagon to Canada where she was almost trampled to death, prior to abbatoir. Rescued and now in full health is a testament to those who saved her and a massive shame on those who did this to her.
If they can do this to a wonderfully successful horse....

All the "do-gooders" who got slaughter banned in America should be ashamed. A "lucky" horse has the journey to Canada; unlucky to Mexico...

Yes every owner should find suitable homes or pts at home but the temptation for even the money a kill buyer will pay is too much for some. There should be humane slaughter without the travel to other countries available

Couldn't agree more, TPO. and if a highly valuable horse like Press Exclusive is treated like this, who knows what is happening to the 'ordinary' horses.
