Hi, sort of horse related. I hope someone out there can help. I've recently discovered the cookery programme Pioneer Woman. You must know the one - "I'm Ree Drummond, blogger, photographer, mother and accidental country girl". I love her recipes and have cooked quite a few but I'm struggling with measurements. I can do the conversion of cups to ounces, and fahrenheit to centigrade/gas number, but please can someone tell me how much does a "stick" of butter weigh ? It's hard to judge from the programme and I never seem to get it right resulting in a slimy mess.
Also, what is "half and half" ? I think it's what we call full milk, but clarification would be grand.
Many thanks for your help.

It's not easy to find half cream but you can use single cream (if you don't mind the calories) or mix single cream with full fat milk to make half and half.

I had thought as "half and half" that mixing would be possible, but I didn't know what to mix ! Thanks for your help !
