Is it possible to reflock an Amerigo saddle? Looking at buying a second hand Close Contact dressage but panels are firm for my liking. Could this be reflocked or even Flaired?

Also I've read that the tree is adjustable...does anyone know how much it would cost to have tree squeezed?

Thanks! 😊

I'm no expert but I think the panels tend to be quite firm on the Amerigos! I have a CC jump and the panels are really quite hard although perfectly smooth and even. Had the Amerigo fitter out and she said they were fine - they can definitely be reflocked though if you want though. Think it's about £200-250 to get the tree altered. I also have a Cortina dressage saddle and the panels aren't quite so hard. They are gorgeous saddles, my horses and I love them :D

My saddler was able to slightly adjust mine but I think to do anything drastic you need to go to a specialist :)

Mines actually for sale if the one your looking at falls through...

I think the panels are made of felt with a little bit of flocking within that (think sausage roll...) so they can be re-panelled but it takes a specialist I think.

Thanks for your responses. Funny you say that riaseed007 as I thought the same-firmer than flocking but very even so maybe they are ok if Amerigos tend to be firmer

They are definitely flocked as had that discussion with the saddler as the Amerigos as very adjustable so the flocking can be changed as opposed to the butets etc which obviously can't.
I have used Helen Murphy http://helenmurphysaddles.co.uk/ think she goes all over Scotland and was very nice and helpful although I couldn't resist buying a 2nd hand dressage off her even though I wasn't planning to get one til next year! :o

yay :) they are lovely saddles! It's funny as had ridden my mare in my old wow when i first got her then got the amerigo jump and tried the wow back on her to use as a dressage saddle and she just about went mental:/ was so odd, never had a horse react like that, but seems to love the amerigo!
