I caught an item on the news about them being turned out - it was so lovely to see them trotting round the field, investigating everything and just being horses. Especially after all they've been through.
yep, it is lovely to see them, they must be so much happier and more comfortable now.
I just worry that the charities may still have to give them back, if JG is found innocent, somebody else (CHARITIES no less) has done a very good and very expensive job of feeding up and getting his horses sorted out, ready for him to sell them at a nice profit
Sorry - maybe I'm in a pessimistic mood... but he could still get them back.
At least the good thing is that for all their faults, I believe the rspca are generally pretty good at getting prosecutions, and having taken this long to get the evidence together I really hope its a sound case.
Thanks for that AmyMay. I wish I had been there to see it. The palamino, Yogi was one of the reasons I wanted to help initially, he is only 2 years old. At the back of the herd you can see a black colt with a little white star - surprisingly enough his name is Star! He clutched at my heart strings when we visited them back in January. Disney is the blue and white who is out with Angel. He is only 3, broken and shod.
That really does my heart good! It brought a tear to my eye! How good that must feel to them. Wonderful to see them enjoying themselves at last, and how sweet that Disney is looking after the dun mare, Angel. I hope and pray there is a successful prosecution, and none of these beautiful animals are returned to that wretch . They deserve a full and happy life now, and I hope they will never, never suffer again.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT..YEPP TEARS WERE ROLLING DOWN
They will remain in RSPCA's custody until the trial, most sensible people signs the ownership over to RSPCA once they have been charged with cruelty/suffering to animal...
When J.G or the Judge signes over the ownership of the horses/donkeys they can be rehomed !!! As long as he ownes them he can get a rather large vet bill to pay..
Has anyone realised that he can be taken to court to pay the vet and care costs as well...
I agree lovely pictures and so nice to see them actually enjoying what horses love to do best, ambling around fields.
I really hope there is a very happy ending to what has been a very sad and traumatic story
Horses galloping in a field, an everyday occurence. However there is NO way that those cobs could have put that much weight on in 2 months having been stabled, so they cannot have been that thin to start with.

Yes please pack it in !!!!! Do you have horses yourself ? Do you know how quickly a horse puts weight back on if they are put on the right and correct diet ?? After 2 weeks at the centre they started to get a small belly
Stop arguing and be happy that the horses are going in the right direction..The chestnut RED would have been dead now, did you see him on TV last week at the day of the rescue and how well he looked 2 and a bit months later..REMIND me to email you a photo of them when the court case is over and done with, for legal reasons only photots that have been cleared by the centres are allowed to be published for the public to view...These horses are now having a fantastic life, just think how they lived 3 months ago..so does it really matter how thin/fat they were at the time ? They were living under conditions that are beyond comprehension for me who is a devoted animal lover and my blood starts to boil like a kettle when ever i think about it !!
Horseygirl - I was fortunate enough to have the very humbling experience of meeting these very horses on 26 January after they had been at THT for only a couple of weeks, and can confirm that these horses were emaciated (Disney being the worst), covered in lice which they were being treated for and covered from head to foot in stale excrement. THT have a team of very experienced and loyal grooms working around the clock to ensure that these horses had ad-lib top quality hay, succulents and high fibre, high oil feed. In the 10 or so weeks they have been at THT they have put on considerable condition which is not only down to feed, but primarily TLC and contentment.
Yes, I do have horses myself, so dont question my knowledge of horses please.
I also know all the horses werent cobs. I actually probably no alot more than any of you do about this case, so dont go trying to pick an argument with me over this.
I know that horses that are on deaths door of starving can by no means in 2 months be chuncky and fat again. ALSO feeding huge quantities of hard feed to horses out of work is a DISASTER waiting to happen - I.E ASSEAER TERIA (dont quote on spelling)

But if you know so much about the Amersham Horses you should know that they were NOT feed on hard feed to start with since they had been without food for soo long, stop pretending that you know anything okey, the only people with the PROPER knowledge are The Rescue Centre's, RSPCA and J.G Too many of us in here has actually seen the poor horses so dont even try telling us that you know anything
And also the photo was in a distance and yes you could see their round bellies but not the rest of their bodies which are still not back to normal. But you should know knowing more than any of us.You say that you dont want an argument so please dont start one..The rest of us are over the moon that they are finally out in the field but you got to throw such an unecessary comment to dampen things ..IF you knew ANYTHING about the case you would NOT say what you did....
so yet another thread bites the bullet, why cant you lot just be pleased the horses are recovering? and full praise has to also go to the staff, im in contact with one of the ht grooms, shes often emailing me from her blackberry whilst being out with the horses.... this is sometimes 11pm!
dedication and full support has come from people that love horses and hate to see them treated like they were, so BACK OFF and let us enjoy the horses finally looking well and being horses. we do not give 2 flying pigs what you think you know, we give a million flying pigs to see the horses kicking their feet up!
Horseygirl28 I don't know if you're just in the mood for an argument but I hope you're not another MJ. Echo what Jhoward says, another thread bites the dust.
Maybe you'd call me gullible, but I trust HHO, the people on here who attended Op Esther and THT to release a picture of the actual horses rather than some other horses. From what I can see its perfectly plausible that the horses have put on that much weight. I have no idea what they were fed but these centres are specialists at rehabilitating neglect cases and would have worked very closely with vets to sensibly bring them back up to condition.
