Does anyone have them? Really want Sprengers but budget sadly isn't going to stretch that far this month and my legs are agony at the moment. Found the Amidale one's on ebay but as they are cheap I am wondering about the quality?

I have a pair then upgraded to the sprengers. They are rubber over a chain type and I wasn't convinced they looked 100% trustworthy but did the job to see if I preferred flexi or not.

I was always careful to pull the rubber back and let it dry properly if they got wet.

Not Amidale, but I recently bought a pair of Shires flexi stirrups, and they've made a world of difference to my leg and ankle pain I was getting in regular stirrups, and they were £35 so not a bank breaker. Seems pretty sturdy and they even work with stirrup cages!

I know someone who bought the Shires after liking mine. The flex was not the same, and they do (or did at the time) not market them as "safety", as Sprenger do. They did feel very comfy though, at a fraction of the price.

However, my Sprenger ones are ancient, and although the rubber tread is worn the sides are perfect. The Shires ones after 3 years had the rubber perish.

I haven't tried the Amidale ones but I have had a few different types over the years and the Compisite Flexi stirrups which I have at the moment are definitely my favourite and not at all expensive in comparison to some. They are really lightweight and I love them (so do my dodgy knees!) I know not everyone likes the plastic type stirrups but if you do I would definitely recommend them.

The coloured flexi stirrups are quite good i must admit, our local shop sells them, they are not Amidale but they look the same, reasonable price and to be fair they are very good.

Same here. They also rusted. The JW ones are cheaper than Sprengers. I've got both and slightly prefer the JW as have cheese grater treads.

Another vote for compositis- no chain to break or worry about, lightweight and smart looking. Rode home from a show on Sunday in my old 'normal' stirrups and the outside of my knees were agony within 15 minutes.
