There was a post about this the other day, I didn't believe it at the time...
bought 1 of my girls 2 new lovely red Amigo rugs at Burghley, both 6'9". she's had the LW one on up till now, fits perfectly. i put the MW one on her today for the first time, it is also marked 6'9"... jeeez, it is absolutely enormous, drowns her! it's at least 6" longer. unbelievable. luckily it fits one of the others, and theirs fits her fine, but i'm a bit annoyed... silly little me thought that rugs from the same manufacturer marked as the same size might actually be the same flipping size!
rant over. humph. so... you have been warned... try them on over a sheet first if you've just bought one, in case you have to send it back!

I use Amigo rugs too because i like the fit. Brought stable & turnouts recently all in 6'3'' and not had a problem.

Sorry to hear you have though - so annoying when you buy something expecting it to fit & it doesn't :-( All I can suggest is ask to measure them in the shop to check. They'll probably be able to measure them for you.

I bought a 2nd hand Amigo MW with a neck. It was ment to be 5ft6 but it drowns my girl who is a good 5ft6. I've kept it though, as my yearling should grow into it.

Never had a problem with their sizing and have got Stable rugs and turnout rugs! Thats abit of a bugger though, sounds like theyve mis-labelled a batch...

Silly as it sounds - did you check the rug tag size and not what it said on the bag? I bought a "6'9" rug once, only to get it home and find it far far too small. Grumbled and humpt about it as it clearly said 6'9 on the bag. Then dug out the lable and discovered it was a 6'3 and some muppet had put it back in the wrong bag.

Kallibear, it definitely says 6'9" on the rug tag too, that was my first thought.
oh well, at least it fits something else.
TandT, i think i'll do that in future, good idea. prob wouldn't have been popular in the middle of a very busy stand at Burghley though!

I have a 6'3 LW for my girly which fits perfectly, BUT my friend bought the same rug from the same shop in a 5'9 for her 14h pony yesterday and it is way too small, she is using it on her 13h section B instead!! Madness! ( and yes we did check the label -defo 5'9) maybe a dodgy batch.

I bought a 4'9" LW for my little one...far too tight, took it back and got the 5ft (she is in 4'9" everything) and was still too tight...gave up and bought a shires one instead!!

Same here, actually- i bought a 6' 3" Amigo for Ella, and it is huge on her. I'm not overly concerned though, as when the cold weather arrives, I will be layering thinner rugs underneath the Amigo, so the extra room will be useful.

My grey horse is in all 6'3 rugs, including Rhino HW and Amigo LW and MW turnouts. Got the 6'3 Rambo fly rug and it was like a dress on her, hanging off her backside. Exchanged it and 6' fits perfectly. She's never a 6' though.

I find the sizing on the small size! the exception being the fly rugs which are large.

how very strange prehaps it depends on your horse type, mine are tb types.

We have the full neck HW Amigo from a rug trial and fitted my boy with big shoulders fairly well - bought him a LW amigo (the red one) and it was like squeezing him into a lycra number

took it back and swapped for the trusty Masta - more expensive but they fit him brilliantly and last better than any rambo made rug I've ever had with less leaks
