Amigo or Weatherbeeta?

My mare has a big chest and I find that the amigos fit her better than some of the newer weatherbeetas! But she does have a 9yr old weatherbeeta taka, heavy combo that fits her really well, and have lasted really well,

I'd personally pick the Weatherbeeta. My big boy is very hard to fit as he has monster withers and a broad chest, and the only brand which consistently fits him is Weatherbeeta. He has quite a few, and I haven't noticed the width of his Landa any less generous than the rest. My little boy has mostly Amigos which fit him beautifully. However, he has next to no withers and he's quite narrow.

I use both on my big and very deep chested IDx. This is her in the heavyweight WB in the snow last year:

Really covers her belly and plenty of room in the hood. I particularly like the extra large tail flap on this rug too.
I use the lightweight Amigos and have found them good around the chest and neck, my only gripe is that madam has trashed the linings on them quite quickly (not sure how?!).

This is her in the Amigo:

Weatherbeeta freestyle medium!!!

I just bought the newest version with the fleece neck cuff thingy and i have the heavyweight orican!! I love these rugs and cannot reccomend them highly enough...I have a welsh d with big shoulders and neck and these are the only types that fit well!! The landa are a good fit but not as good as the freestyles :D

Just want to add this years amigos are true to size, I went up a size and it is swimming on my mare, compared to the amigo I got 2 years ago which is quite snug. Damn have to return it now and Hoover off the white hairs ;)

I've had Amigos and Landa Freestyles in the past. My advice is invest in a Rambo instead. It will save you money in the long term (so long as your horse isn't the destructive type).

Shires are meant to be good for horses who need more room round the chest, i got my pony who's 5'6 amigo rug fits her perfect, a shires fleece and it is down to her knees! i've just ordered a saxon rug and are hoping to get a 360g wetherbeeta winter rug :)
