I just bought an Amigo fleece rug, and have realised it hasnt got x surcingles, only one surcingle (if that makes sense). I want to use it as a cooler/ light stable rug, so am now worried about it slipping.

Does anyone have one, and can they alleviate my worries?

I'm very impressed with the quality, and am now looking at buying an Amigo turnout rug. What type should I buy for winter use?

I have a fleece with just the one sircingle too. It goes on my very active ID and Ive had no problem with it slipping round.

Just make sure you have the fillet string well adjusted though, so many people have them too loose to the point where they are either useless or dangerous!

Ive got the jersey rug, same one surcingle. If I use it on its own I sometimes put an elasticated surcingle over the top as I cant tighten up the rug anymore, damn skinny horse. He managed to get out of it one night!

Thanks Spaniel.

I like the way the fillet string is easy to adjust, great attention to detail.

I cringe when I see fillet strings too loose, ditto leg straps

LOL me too.

Id recommend all the Amigo turnouts but especially the 1200 denier lightweight (has no filling) which is great for warm weather and the 1200 middleweights which both my boys are in at the moment, one with the detatchable hood and one with no hood.

the amigo turnouts are lovely, have the lightweight with no filling, and a medium with neck, both are super rugs, adn do the job well.

I have the Amigo M/W turnout and stable rugs and a couple of their cotton sheets - v. pleased with them.

As he is going to have a hunter clip I've ordered the H/W turnout. But I've had to order the Rhino H/W stable as the Amigo one doesn't have a neck or attachments - also wish Amigo did a H/W turnout with integral neck - anyone know the boss of Horseware

I've got the rainsheet from cyber checkout and they are fab! Much better than all the proper horse companies,i got mine through e-bay for £29 inc p&p,it came within 2 days well packaged,i've also got a m/w and i love them, great value and very smart and tough.

I have put up links to them before - they are really quick and cheap postage. I actually rang them and they were very helpful and recommended I went a size larger with the amigo as I have chunky cobs - there were right, the amigo is slightly narrow fitting than other rugs on the chest and neck.

My boys now have medium weights for when they are clipped out next week. Light weights are still fine at the moment just to keep the weather off.
