Apart from the price what is the difference in the quality of the rugs? Is there a noticeable difference?

Hmm, the Rhinos are tougher, but I have a LWT and HWT Amigo turnout and a MWT Rhino Wug. All are fantastic rugs, the Rhino is my fav, but only cos I love the Wugs, and it is the most useful weight!!

I have Amigo's, Rhinos and Rambo's, I have never replaced a rhino or a rambo but i have had to replace a few amigo's. The price difference between amigo and rhino is quite a lot so i dont mind replacing them every couple of years.

I find the rhino rugs a lot tougher. Ive tried two amigo rugs and they both ripped quite quickly (not particularly their fault, due to my hooligan welsh cob) - the rhinos are still going strong though

Ooh, just to add I have the 1000denier Amigo's which are alot tougher than the 500 denier, so have never had a rip or tear in them

i have an amigo lw which i think is great because it is so light and breatherable so idea when you just want to keep the rain off there backs. i've got 2 and neither of my horses have damaged them, even my rug wrecker!!

not had any experience of the rhinos sorry

I have Amigos, which I find are great though my pony is quite careful so he hasn't tested how tough they are..yet!

I needed a H/W stable rug with integrated neck which they don't do in the Amigo range (don't do H/W T/O with integrated neck either - anyone reading this from Horseware?

The main difference is that the Rhino waterproof lining is inside the rug and therefore never wears off and therefore never needs re waterproofing or leaks. Amigos are just like normal rigs and have the waterproofing applied onto the top of it. (I used to work in a saddlery, I'm not just sad! Honest!

The difference in the stables is mainly toughness and that they're made abroad unlike Rhinos which are made in Ireland

I was under the impression through a friend in the trade that all Horseware are made abroad now and not in Ireland so therefore I expect to see a drop in quality of finish and fit. Their coats definately are not as tough and waterproof as they used to be, latest one is just 6 months old and already coming apart.

Hi,

Horseware do the Amigo Insulator Heavy & Medium with fittings on the neck to allow you to buy and Insulator Hood for it.

Hi,

Horseware still handmake all of their Rambo Rugs in Ireland and the majority of their Rhino products also.

The Amigo range is made abroad, but still I think most people will agree, it is the best in it's market.

Not true - a small proportion is made in Dundalk but the vast majority is, like most companies, made in China. Do call them and ask if you want verification.
