Amigo XL Rugs - sizing?

Has anyone bought the XL rugs that Amigo do, nowadays?

Do they still fit like standard Amigos, i.e. go up a size? Just about to order one for my big cob - he currently (just) fits into a 6'3 Shires Highlander, but he's a growing 4yo. I can't decide whether to go for the 6'6 or 6'9...

Also curious as to just how deep in the chest they are?

I've just bought one for my rising 2 year old,a standard 5'9" Amigo was too tight for him so I got a 6' XL. It's a really generous fit on him so I'm hoping it will last him for a while!
 
I bought a 6'6" for my lad by accident and its far too big around the neck for him as although he's a cob, he's not terribly wide. Some day ill get round to putting it on eBay... Lovely rug though!
 
Size seems the same as normal amigo, which normally is a bit smaller in size then some brands like weatherbeeta. Our big boy always goes in the XL and we love them on him, no rubbing and keeps and dry and warm!
 
The extra sizing is definitely in the neck and depth. Length wise they come up the same on my big chap, but he has room in shoulders and it keeps his tummy warm too!!
 
i think the stable rugs are deeper, but the turnouts aren't really much deeper, unless normal amigos are like mini skirts, my boy is a 6ft3 and the 6ft 6 is definately too big, 6ft 3 are the best fit I have come across on my big chested boy
 
Brilliant, thanks guys!

We struggle with my boy more in depth round the neck than actual chest width. Most rugs seem to fasten too high up his neck, so I'm hoping the XL will give him an extra bit of room. I'll order him a 6'6 if they're generous.
 
Stormynight that is the same as my horse really, when i say chest i mean the whole front end of the rug is normally just too small, hopefully they will be fine for you
 
They are excellent if you want a rug with depth. I have a 16.3hh Shire Cross who is not wide but very deep in the shoulder and neck and they are the best fitting rugs for him
 
It arrived today... and I've never seen my boy swamped by a rug before! Generous on the sizing and huge around the neck. That means plenty of growing room though, and it's a lovely rug :)
