Went to a local comp yesterday, decided against SJ as ground was wet. My boy is hacking/SJ fit but not done much fast work, so decided to 'hack' round the Hunter Trial. We trotted round, only cantering 3-4 strides into each fence, even walking on a hillocky part of the course. Eventually we got home clear in 10 mins 17 secs
Went back in car later with other girls from the yard who got fast clears (4-5 mins) to check their placings and was astounded. I came fourth!!!!
There weren't loads in the class, but a few had stops and 3 were eliminated for cutting across a newly sewn field.
Am over the moon and so pleased with my lad. Even if I hadnt been placed it was nice to get the chance to get out and pop round a nice cc course.
