I had my horse advertised as companion ,fortunately have found him lovely knowledgable home.
Yesterday I had phone call asking if he was still available before I had chance to tell caller he has new home he told me that his wife was looking for a companion (as in company he didnt understand concept of companion horse) and they had land with small animals .She would like to ride later but has ms and is lonely and would my horse be suitable to keep her company.I hadnt the heart to tell him that he had completely got the wrong idea re companion plus if he ever comes sound 8 year old tb would not be good idea for someone that has never ridden before.Told him to phone local rescue centre at least they will vet home and give him good advice.

How funny, bless! When Jiro's owner was informed about the seriousness of his lameness today he asked what he could do with him We suggested he could be a companion and the guy was confused and said he thought people would prefer to have a dog or cat!!! It's obviously something in the atmosphere today

I have visions of these people taking the horses indoors to watch tv with ready meals .

I suggested rescue centre hoping they could give him some good advice rather than loaning off some desperate person looking to off load lame horse.

I can just see him, sitting by the fire with his slippers on, knotting a cardi for the winter. They will be able to watch corrie together I think he would be a lovely companion for the lady.

I have given them local rescue centres address and with right help and guidance they might be able to find suitable rescue horse.

It would be great if they could be helped enough to get a little pony or something, they can be so good for keeping up spirits and even rehab. Bless. Maybe they could keep it on full livery if they had enough money and then she could just go and watch it and pet it.

Look at me getting carried away, that just really pulled my heart strings for some reason.
