Amy is Amy Tryon, an international eventer. Her horse broke down (lost all the ligaments in its leg) cross country at kentucky before the last fence, horse was hopping on three legs and broke into trot twice. Both times Amy kicked him back into canter, proceeded to jump the next jump, ride for a finish then get off and walk off without even looking at the horse.
The horse did not survive.
