An actual horse thread, nothing to do with weight. WWYD

Can u get her to telepathically contact my horse and describe the horrors of TO at the mo? Might make him appreciate his wee hardcore turnout area- he's v fed up :(

I can try. Although she bounces out every morning as if she expects a field of grass to have appeared so she clearly hasn't quite worked it out herself yet!

I feel quite bad for the poor little mite when she gets to the field and it is just snow and mud again. She is clearly desperate for some grass and sick of winter, just like I am!

My 4yo doesn't like being out much - we've managed to persuade her to stay out for 3-4hrs on a nice day, but as soon as she's had enough she starts cantering up and down the fence and then comes in dripping sweat and horribly tucked up, which is not ideal for a mare you're trying to get weight on! As a result the YM keeps a very close eye on her and brings in as soon as Kitty wants her stable!

Mine didn't want to be out again today. Grr.

Was thinking of trying to get her a companion to go in her field with her (she has horses over the fence as it is now) but OH said 'why does she have to stay out if she really hates it' and I didn't really have a good answer for that :o Will just let her go out for short periods until the grass comes in and the weather perks up I think.

At least in she eats her haylage. As she's a skinny, greyhoundy thing I would rather she was in eating than running about fretting.
