Mine were much more worried by some nosy person's drone that came to have a look at us when we moved in here (there was much language from me at that point, loud enough for the whole valley to hear too because drone made a very quick exit...) that'll thet were worried by the enormous fat bellied aircraft practically on top of their heads.

Drones make a very odd noise and perhaps smaller flying objects get filed into "potential horrible biting fly thing" in the evolutionary experiences file... I don't know. I've certainly known horses scared of large planes and helicopters but they do seem less scared of them generally than we might expect.

We have 2 neighbours that fly planes so they often fly low over my fields and the horses just look up at them and carry on eating, we also have model aircraft people just over the back so they are also used to them, they were not keen on the huge kite parachute thing that next door where flying a few months back in the field next door to me, that sent them running and snorting round the field.

We have the Eurostar tracks running through the middle of the yard and all hacking routes head out directly next to it. They are loud and fast... mine doesn’t bat an eyelid when it’s barely 10ft away, she doesn’t care about it going under the bridge directly underneath her .... plastic bags however ... definitely going to eat her ??‍♀️
