In february I unfortunatly lost my beautiful coloured SHP to a heart attack, he was only 7!
9 weeks ago I bought a baby in Ireland, his name is lenny AKA Clonoulty High King
This is him when I went to see him in ireland, barely handled
this is him when he arrived from Ireland after a nightmare 15hr journey (Ferry delays, stationary traffic on the M6,M62 and crawling traffic on the A63, he should have been with me by 10am but didnt arrive untill 3.30pm), where he sat on the wall of the lorry so much he had massive pressure sores on his bottom and dock. He also refused to drink the entire journey so was scarily dehydrated. He had bad rainscald on his back and some sores from his headcollar on his face.
I have since handled him, tidied him up and broken him:
This is him at his first show 4 weeks ago

and at his second show 2 weeks ago
Well 5 weeks to the day since he was first sat on Lenny did his first ever show!
We arrived having had a bit of an incident in the lorry where Lenny reared up and got a foot in his haynet, resulting in haynet wrapped around his foot and me having to slip under a partition with a knife to cut it free.
This resulted in Lenny coming off the Lorry absolutly wired, however as I walked him round the show field he started to settle nicely.
Tacked him up and longriened him for the better part of 40 mins, then got on and rode him, he was wired again so worked him for anouther 30 mins before I got any sense out of him.
However whilst wired and not inclined to listen to me, there was no bucking, rearing, taking off or proper pratting around so I was very very pleased!
Into his class which was the novice horse class, the go round was only walk and trot (which is why I chose that class) and he went beautifuly, very sweet and willing if a bit novicey
The judge set a show which included 2 canters on the straight, which is very difficult for a horse who is still quite wobbly in canter!
However Lenny managed to get the correct Leg both times and he tried his hardest!
