An invitation to Robert Whitaker and Catwalk

I think the sighing is just a way of him controlling his nerves tbh, you see it when people do public speaking. (still irritating tho)

Just a couple of questions from me:-

1) Does catwalk still have bridling problems if not it would be pretty useless for "the sighing man to have a try"

2) Has robert responded to the outcry of cruelty to catwalk ?

3) How much will "the sighing mans" magic horse products cost ?

I have not really got involved in the "catwalk and PP" debate because I was not there and the videos dont seem that good quality or show the start, middle or end of what was actually being tried.
Do we know if a fuller version is on the web somewhere, I have seen the PP one where catwalk is being bridled very calmly but we will never know how long it took him in private to get to that stage, and get the feeling it was only put out on the web to defend himself and he knew is standing in the wider horse community had gone down the pan.

Having seen him in person, I doubt that very much!
His website is www.chrisirwin.com, he is a very respected and talented trainer, just (IMO) not NH. Some of the comments on here are quite astute.

lmao @kitsune. i have never heard of him before but stumbled across it when i was trying to find the one of linda and the blind horse.

the sighing is annoying- seems to me he is trying to belittle or patronize parelli by doing it?
still good for him for taking the time to do it and express his opinion

Yup, sighing bugged me too!! Dislike his claims that he miraculasly (sorry, can't spell!) fixed problem horses in just 3 hrs, and that he would do a display with Catwalk. Imho the last thing Catwalk needs is another bloody demonstration, and the first thing he needs is time to build up trust with his handlers. Sigh...

Sorry, but what I find the sighing (and other body language) signifies to me is passive aggressiveness, desire to control image as much as the horse, a desire to create an aura and a slight manipulativeness.

Why is such an issue being made out of this poor horse's problems with the bridle anyway? Its no more than a lot of novice owners have to deal with on occasion. Whats the betting that in a couple of years this horse will be fine to bridle, just by sheer patient and calm repitition. Does it really have to turn into some international squabble? This is one of the type of things that makes me glad I do other sports, outside of horses!

I think you have hit the nail on the head with this statement.
