An LED whip for us hi viz peeps

It’s great I love it it certainly slows the cars down .
It’s best an darker days .
It works well and charges well .

Thank you GS, The lanes are quite dark as they are covered with leaves, so that should work well, I just want some high viz that is more at driver eye level, so whilst I wear a high viz vest, I feel i am too high up to be seen which is why people laugh when they see my horse.

I am still at a loss why so many so called intelligent people take the mickey out of me when the the horse being viz-ed up, it is quite shocking really, all i can ever say is well at least if i come off, it gives the horse the best chance of being seen before he/she is hit by a car.

Can we have an update on the whip, was it worth it ? I am hacking down lots of tree covered lanes, and looking for a few extra bits of high viz, horse already has martingale and all legs, saddle cloth, i have bits on my stirrups too.

Here's a photo of my daughter modelling my cobbled-together version of the hi-vis whip.

The piece of EL wire I have is really too long for this whip; even though I made a loop at the tip and tightly wound the wire length, there's still a bundle of it left at the handle.

Here's another, taken a few minutes later with different exposure to show what it looks like when it's darker.

I got one for Christmas. It's very good in shady areas, but the lights aren't really visible in bright daylight. The great thing about it though is that it's bright red anyway so that is visible to drivers. I haven't needed to recharge it, although before lockdown I was only hacking for a couple of hours at weekends and turned it off when I was off the road.

After posting that I thought they were expensive i treated myself after getting some Xmas money. I love it! The fact that its so easy to turn on and off means I only use it when we’re in shadow on or on very gloomy days.
