an observation

Yes, there is a clique of longer term and more regular users. I think that is an inevitable part of any community on line or rl. I don't have a problem with it. I've never been in an in crowd.

I've had some good advice when I've asked for it in here and the dog page.

I've never opened myself up to crit by posting pics or videos of my riding, it is less than perfect!

I think some people are a bit fed up with BSJA123, I haven't responded to her, have no problem with her she has posted some daft stuff which leavex herself wide open to the responses she has received.

DB - I'll look out for your other threads. Apart from useful advice when requested I haven't often received millions of replies. I'm old enough to cope with being less popular thank BSJA123 though!!

:):)

If you all wan't a rest from NL, go into SB and have a laugh, it's not b!tchy in there.....
. well not very often anyway:D

As one of the longest standing members, I still honestly don't think this forum is cliquey! OK, actually I take that back, I think the Soapbox is very cliquey these days and thus I don't go in there very much at all, sticking to Comp Riders, or NL if something piques my interest :)

As for posting pics/vids - I tend not to after a rather horrific experience of being ripped to shreds by so-called forum *friends* on their own, different forum, it absolutely killed my self esteem and so now I simply don't subject myself to it - problem solved, although it is sad.

Which is it ladies? :D

I'm sure I saw an impressive photo on here of you the other day...:p

I *generally* steer clear from the heated debates on here, and try not to get sucked in - tbh, its sometimes a bit a fun and I think some members on here take things far too seriously.

I am not one of the cool bunch, and seem to be VERY good at killing threads - so apologies if this one suffers the same fate as the rest....... :D :D :D

Same here.

It is a shame that people can be rude and generally unpleasent, but sadly its life. I feel sorry for BSJA123, I hope she is a strong willed 14 year old who will stand her ground. I wish her luck for the future.... she might just be the person who makes it to the top.

Diggerbez you are right.

Having been on the recieving end of a witch hunt for something that was nothing to do with me I now stick to my buddies in Soapbox and AAD - it means that I rarely post on anything else where as previously I would answer posts on laminitis, ulcers etc etc and other things I have unfortunatley got experience of as I got sick of being hounded by those who 'say it how it is' and being accused of button pushing. I know I am not alone in that - so whilst the more abrasive and vocal posters haven't won as we are still here or lurking they have affected the amount of post/info that gets shared possible to the detriment of others. The only upside to me being hounded was it meant they left others alone for a while.

Well I think it is, but mostly because I don't go in there, there is deffo a huge amount of people who *know* each other now and so I don't get what they are on about LOL

Yes, I have recently put up a vid and a couple of pics, but only because I was 100% about them - the photo in particular is pretty much 100% text book perfect, so happy to post....sad isn't it!

It's like any forum, pub, workplace anywhere humans gather be it by face or by word.

You get clique's anywhere! If you can't beatum, joinum!!! Or, don't as the case may be.

You do have to remember - the majority of people on HHO (I've worked out) are toffs with nothing better to do other than poke fun at non-toffs (i.e. intellectuals) with thier in-jokes and clique-tasticness. They probably have bad hair, don't wash and speak though thier nose snorting rather alot whilst deciding what to do with granny's estate. Most probably don't care about horses (as they perhaps have employees to do that) but rather exhonourate their greatness on a forum because the range rover broke down and ,the AA can't find the postcode ont' satnav to come fix it so they'll have to pop down to the Hare & Hounds later in the week instead.

You have to feel sorry for some people. Wonder what's being said about them down in the bar....

I do, I'm a lowly farmworker im me spare time. I chew grass-stalks by day and swill cider with the pigs (publican) at night but every so often a gent asks me to do some work which suits me fine for a hefty price :D

(BTW I'm only on here coz I've fallen out wiv landlord. I accidentally stood on his miniature daschund - completely true)

No, what's sad is that there is now a need to consider how 'perfect' it is before posting for fear of other people's nastiness rather than just being able to post something because you want to :(

But it's not bitchy:(
Everyones much more laid back, :) maybe thats because we arent discussing horses :D

I will have you know that Ihave very good hair, I often get comments about my thick and shiny hair! Are you for real?

I absolutely agree with OP I find it extremely nasty on here sometimes, and no I am not particularly fluffy. It really can be a case of "in with the in crowd" on here at times, which is a shame.

I seem to spot a "sort" of person in these cliques, WB or TB owners for a start.

Yarp - this is what I mean!! Why do they think they are so much better?

Re: what colour is she??
Just plain Bay, sorry nothing special/exciting their, i have a blue roan and my friend has Buzz on loan who is known on this forum plus passported as an 'uncommon' dun roan, your girl is lovely but not enough white in her coat to be roan, sorry.

Range Rover - Check!

Dirty Hair - Check!

AA Cannot find house via SatNav - RAC darling, and Check! Delivery men cannot find it either.....

As for everything else...nah! My RR is a W reg, it is knackered and I cannot afford to replace it, my hair is dirty because I have just been playing with my children and got hot and the reason no one can ever find my house is because some amazingly intellectual person assigned 2 postcodes to my stretch of road, which is in the middle of a village and really not hard to find :p

Of course it is her - the *unique* way with words gives it away. (As well as general rudeness, casual racism and overall hostility.)

isn't it the same on any forum tho ? One in particular that I used to go on, not horsey, had (and still has) a very hard core of posters who simply back each other up all the time, and ignore the lesser mortals. Like me.

I eventually decided that I didn't like said forum, and have never been back, other than to nosey if it's the same. The clique now have many thousands of posts each, and it's clear than newbies and uncool members are sooo outnumbered. I'm so much better off out of it.

With this forum, I find that a lot of the posts ARE tongue-in-cheek. It takes some sussing, but they are. But like any forum, there will be nasty posts - I have put peeps who make these replies on Ignore, and just carry on. And I would never, ever put a vid of me on here :D

I'll back you up anyday. I like your horse.

Yarp - this is what I mean!! Why do they think they are so much better?

Because they have had to pay a ridiculous amount for their horses, especially WBs, then an even more exorbitant amount to have it retrained :p

Try having anything else, eg. coloured cob, hienz or as in my case a real heavy horse ( not a heavy hunter) and you become an excellent target.

Just to prove I am not elitist, I also have a KWPN, which we had to retrain ourselves, due to lack of dosh!
