an observation

Because they have had to pay a ridiculous amount for their horses, especially WBs, then an even more exorbitant amount to have it retrained :p

Tsk - yes shame that. Then after all that they can't ride 'em. It must be so frustrating. Keeping some people in business I'm sure ;) my mate owns a training yard - just bought a brand new toyota. At least she's not complaining.

Wot goes around.......................... :D

I think it works well, country folk keeping better country folk in business!

I really couldnt care less, there are a few people i don't like on here and i will comment what i want when i want :D

I have to say, I'm with her actually. Plus, I remember a quote Chico posted once "stand on the parapet and you will be shot at".

I think the forum's pretty fair overall and for the most part you get what you ask for. When someone does get unfair stick, more people tend to stick up for them. Things work themselves out as long as everyone avoids taking forum life too seriously.

I think DB raises a very good point. Personally, I think this forum is a bit like marmite - or just life in general. There some absolutely lovely, kind, geniune, helpful and generous people on here and there are also some complete t*ssers who cause trouble etc. I find NL is the worst area for b*tch*n*ss so I treat it with caution, whereas other parts of the forum I know I'm going to get help and support and kind advice from people of all experience levels no matter what dumbass question I answer.

I think it's natural for people to be cliquey, though I can't say I am bothered about being part of a clique or not! However, I hate it when people just have a go at others for no reason, or because they are inexperienced, the fact that they are asking for support from more experienced people is an entirely positive thing IMO and I hate it when they get shot out of the water for it, no matter how silly the question!

I am massively into people being allowed free speech but there's useful contribution/opinion and there's also being nasty for no reason.

Regardless, this forum has helped me on many occasions and I think the great people on here outweigh the not so great. Also in HHO's defence there are fairly frequent posts from new users about how great it is and how much nicer than other forums.

I'm a "foal" and I have to agree it's a well balanced forum. I quite enjoy it here. If anything displeases me I'm good at pretending it's not there... like most things in my life. I should be called gung-ho, not tallyho! as that is my general way about - therapy has been suggested but usually money goes on the horse.

If only you could feel my hangovers.... *groans*

People in general love to have a b*tch and moan. Then add to that 99% women, horsey women, horsey women who can remain annonomous, horsey women who remain annomomous who can also form friendships and alliances, then of course you are going to get the odd barney and groups. From my POV, when I first joined, I was warmly welcommed. I have not have any nasty comments from anyone (bar one Hideous Girl who purely comes on here to post inflammatory posts - and the whole forum was with me on that one, so it was all good!!) . I have read, and commented on BSJA123 but have posted my comments on her threads on another thread last night. I guess people just need to deal with the fact that people ARE going to b*tch and moan, but that is indeed the joy of free speach on an open forum. I am not going to tell anyone how to exercise those rights.

I bet she's a bad-haired toff.

Its because horse riders (especially females) are the most b****yist people in the UK. This is because everyone wants their horse to be better or their riding to be the best! Everyone is also an "expert" so everyone crticises everyone even if this critique is incorrect! I have met some of the most two faced horrible people through horse riding and I'm sure this is why.

Maybe there will be a new generation of horseriders who are actually nice and do not have a double agenda! But I do admit there is a lot of bullying in this forums.

I DO SO AGREE WITH YOU Kokopelli! - and there are some subjects which will always elicit a bitch - fest. Have frequently been on the receiving end of such vilefications, I think its pretty pathetic, immature and downright nasty the way some of the clique members gang up on people who have a different viewpoint to the "masses" but this is always the case in any population, even a forum. I think these types are referred to as the "Moral Majority" in politics and represents the kind of narrow-minded, stereotypical mindsets of people who do not applaude change or democracy. The sort of mentally that brought about the asassination of John F Kennedy and other civil rights activists.
I know I am stretching the ideology a little here, but its the same thing really.
Pompous self-rightous types ( and a lot of them young folk too) who can not handle people who view points that are not only contemporary but also diametrically opposed to the old tried and tested methods.
A bit like Darwin verses the creationists!

I am fascinated by the fact that this thread seems to have formed a new clique, and is doing exactly what they complained of! I do not consider that there has been bullying on this forum, but this thread is following the same pattern, up to and including 'outing' someone who had a different user name (for whatever reason) and then making very rude remarks! Quite bryond me.

I do agree with OP, but on the other hand, if you start a new thread, you do open yourself up to everyones views.
I dont see the reason to be rude, but some people can come across as quite harsh where as others have a kinder way of putting basically the same thing.
As regard to picking on people for their grammer and punctuation, I couldnt help but notice earlier a thread started on here that was almost illegible as there was no punctuation, spelling was really quite bad, and it was pointed out to the OP. The next post she put on was punctuated really quite well, and was much easier to read because of paragraphing.
