an observation

I usually prefer to keep a low profile and post about sensible things like why grey horses get dirty and as a result get very few replies. (though the ones I do get are greatly appreciated). However sometimes my sense of humour breaks free and I'll post something tongue in cheek or lighthearted - usually as a reaction to some heated debate that's been going on. It always amazes me that some people take these posts seriously :( To me its pretty obvious when someone is posting tongue in cheek eg Shilistair above saying she doesn't get many replies to her threads (PMSL at that!). I've always found that my sense of humour has got me through some really tough times - I pity those people on here that seem to have had a bypass in that department.
So my observation is basically 'lighten up'.

I think I may be one of those posters who never gets a reply on their threads.
S :(

Thats because you are very fluffy and never post anything controversial..........

I am fascinated by the fact that this thread seems to have formed a new clique, and is doing exactly what they complained of! I do not consider that there has been bullying on this forum, but this thread is following the same pattern, up to and including 'outing' someone who had a different user name (for whatever reason) and then making very rude remarks! Quite bryond me.

i think that apart from the odd reply this hasn't formed a 'new clique'. you can't do that through just 1 post ;) i think its interesting how many people feel that there is an unnecessarily bitchy/nasty element on here. constructive criticism (when asked for) is fine! its uncalled for nasty comments that are bitchy. And FWIW, if you can't read someone's post because of bad punctuation and spelling- why not send them a polite PM to point this out- much more sympathetic that way if they do have a reason for bad spelling etc- rather than 'having a go' on the open forum... just an idea

I also agree with the clique thing too. They could post about should they put a brown or white numnah on for a hack and they get 40 replies, someone else can post something really interesting and get 2 or 3 answers.

You are so right, but I fear it is endemic. Before the Franch thing the clique was made up of a different set of people, many of whom have now left, and I for one do not miss them. I commented on their bullying antics about 2 years ago and got my e-head torn off for my trouble

We now have a new clique of those who can do no wrong, and we will have to live with it I guess. I try to avoid the more contentious threads because tbh I haven't got the time or the energy to bother with them, but it is a shame when a potentially interesting thread gets few replies because the OP is not amongst the cool:cool:

Can someone please list who exactly is in which clique:confused:

I know I'm not in one ( I don't know anyone here in RL) ......and others don't think they are or deny being in one.....yet everyone says it is cliquey!

It would be interesting to see who people *think* are in cliques......

So...go on then.....lets play a game...

'Name that Clique'

*puts on tin hat and hides in straw barn* :D:D

As one of the longest standing members, I still honestly don't think this forum is cliquey! OK, actually I take that back, I think the Soapbox is very cliquey these days and thus I don't go in there very much at all, sticking to Comp Riders, or NL if something piques my interest :)

As for posting pics/vids - I tend not to after a rather horrific experience of being ripped to shreds by so-called forum *friends* on their own, different forum, it absolutely killed my self esteem and so now I simply don't subject myself to it - problem solved, although it is sad.

I fell for your amazing jumping pic though lol!! No ripping to shreds from me. I'm relatively new though.

I am pretty sure I am not in any sort of clique, and I have been around a few years. I will post wherever draws my attention, and it happens longer threads do catch it more than one or two replies. Then again, I don't say anything I would say to someone's face, in a lesson, on a livery yard etc. I have largely stopped posting on the 'CC please' posts as I learned long ago that most don't actually want the critisism part, just the 'don't you look lovely' part - and I don't do vapid praise.

Tsk, ANOTHER 'oh, please play nicely, children!' thread...

It ain't gonna happen!

Ignore the stuff you don't like, and accept some people will never agree with you...and report the downright nasty folk....

THIS is the short version of what I said earlier on another thread, the next thread will get something even shorter......

I haven't read the whole thread but I agree that some people on here are just being b*tchy for b*tching's sake and it's not pleasant to read at all :(
