An unlikely friendship...

LOL

she is not giving up without a fight

Aww bless! That is cute. She's getting big now (I know she's small but I mean she has grown, LOL!!).

hehe she is 'big' now! Seems to have stopped growing, or at least slowed right down. She and BIG dog are best friends and play together all the time. She thinks she is the boss but he lets her play and win every game. VERY cute, he is so gentle with her even when it looks as though he is playing rough.

Posted it for the few people who voiced concerns about us getting such a small dog when we had something as large as BIG dog already- and also for those who have big/tiny dogs worrying about getting something the opposite size.

Cant see a problem with having a large and small breed as long as they are always supervised when they are together

My rotti always plays with the little dogs and she is very gentle........I never leave her unsupervised i.e if I go out or pop to the shop.....as I know as a large breed what she is potentially capable of if a squabble occured

But whilst I am about they all run around like a bunch of nutters big and small alike

your 2 look like good pals

Yes, they are good pals now, and we now leave them together without a second thought.

BUT it took a long time to gradually carefully get them used to each other. Several weeks of careful work. Was worth it though

Hehe, when my JRT Jimmy was 3months old he started going to the clicker training for agility classes at the club where I do agility and he used to hang off one of the Great Dane's toys whilst the Dane was on the other end

Benz swung Jim around it was hilarious to watch

Millie's best friend whilst growing up was a Mastiff x GSD who used to live over the road from us. He was not good at all with other dogs except Milbert. He'd come down the stables with us (I was sharing Nelson with his owner at that point) and when no other dogs were around he'd not have his muzzle on, just be on lead, and Millie could take food out of his mouth and he wouldn't bat an eye lid!! If I took her round to his house she'd go straight to his food bowl and he'd back away and let her check it out

They used to play for ages and I'll never forget one day he got a bit rough and before my friend could tell him off Millie had tugged his throat in self defence and she was stood in the middle of the living room, with a tuft of Yogi's hair in her mouth with this big dog looking completely gobsmacked - we didn't half howl with laughter!!!!

Here's a pic of Millie and Yogi, it's the only one on the comp, the best one is framed and you can really see the size difference:
