Hello all,

Firstly, thank you all very much for your advice - it definitely helped me to feel more prepared!

Went out with the Badsworth and Bramham yesterday and had the time of our lives! Everyone was so friendly, helpful and welcoming so that what started out as a stressfull day(forgot my shirt and jacket at home!!) turned out to be one of the most exciting days I have ever had out riding!

My horse was very well behaved until he saw the hounds and heard the horns and which point he nearly burst something! Pity that was at the exact moment I was trying to get on! So, my suspicion that he would remember how exciting it was last time proved to be correct! However, apart from a bit of a bronc on the first gallop he settled down and made me so proud of him!

The embarrassing highlight was when a clod of mud landed on the pommel of my saddle and made a nice dodgy looking stain on the front of my johds. I didnt notice. The whole hunt staff rode past me at the end of the day. About five minutes later I DID notice the dodgy looking muddy mark. Quite embarrassed but also highly amused!

I'm already planning my next outing. Need to work out where I am going to get all the extra cash from first though....!

Sounds like you had a brilliant day, so glad you enjoyed it.

where abouts are you, and how far are you prepared to travel for hunting? Just that I am in Thirsk, and hunt with the Bilsdale, and I would guess at our visitor cap being cheaper than with B&BM or at least I know our visitor cap is only £45!

PM me if you want more info!

Thanks for that Jenhunt, I might have to limit myself to the hunts which are a bit more local for the timebeing (I am in Leeds/Bradford). I am sure will be a bit more adventurous when I get my confidence with it all!!

aaaahhh, fair enough, you're a good hour from us then in a car even! just shout if ever you fancy joining us!

We have a fab day on the last saturday in March, our end of season do... champagne breakfast, 2mile XC gallop (in small groups), hunt meet and then full day hunting, rounded off with Strawberries and cream!
