Well, where do I start!
Last week i posted a photo wandering about what so do with Gypsy's almost 2ft long mane. The decision was not to hog but to pull. So pulled it was! Out came the scissors (I know, but even a solo comb too forever and we cut it downwards so its not choppy and doesn't look cut). We decided on the 'scruffy' look, as in brush it up towards his ears so it bounces everywhere, as layed down to one side looks a bit odd. And here's the result!
Then yesterday we bit the bullet and bought some new Lister clippers to do his feathers, took us all day to do them, did his fronts...just... with a twitch and me frantically going around getting them done in time because we didn't want the twitch on too long (it was either that or be kicked, he's not the most clipper friendly on the best of days, let alone louder clippers on his legs). So we turned him back out and tried his back legs later which took us about half an hour to actually get the twitch on... he's too clever for his own good!!
So here's the result of that one! I need to go over with scissors just to get the bits I didnt get yesterday but you can't tell in the picture
.
Tuesday we went show jumping, and call me mad but I fed him oats to give him a bit more spring
Anyone that knows Gypsy will know he's not the easiest and you would have thought not in a million years would that pony need any form of extra energy, but yes, i'm mad and i'm the one riding him! I jumped him the day before and it was the funniest thing ever! Bouncing all over the place and loving the jumping. We warmed up outside (which is rare for us anyway as the gate is wide open and he used to like to tank off out of it, but we had new breaks and he had a friend to follow. Up over a small cross pole, fine, not even excited... took him over a straight, only about 2ft and he exploded with excitement! He was now bouncing everywhere and decided broncing was fun
Anyway, long story short the course was very twisty turny and not many going clear so I thought we had no chance of going clear... but watch this

Ps, this is my friends channel who's computer was playing up and ended up black and white
We came 4th
out of about 20+ horses and ponies I couldn't believe it, the most popular class with all the ambitious ones and we got placed! He pinged over all of them... oats must have worked
And he even did his first ever lap of honor
With the 2'9 out of the way, I was second in the 3'3 and we somehow went clear again! With it getting dark and flies about we took him back to the box where I helped a friend load her pony, missed the results being called and they were packing away, I didn't think we would have got placed but I popped over just to see, and to My amazement we came 2nd!! Out of over 10 horses we were one of only two to go clear, and these were up against big horses that had been there and done it and pretty much get placed every week
got to do direct links to TFC doesn't tell me off but heres a couple of pics from the 3'3 class
