TBH I feel a bit mean being so sceptical, but things don't add up and on another forum I use, a similar thing has just happened. The details of what happened in that case are quite disturbing, and it's quite disgusting the lengths some people will go to in order to harvest attention from others. Another person on that same forum, told us all that her 3 month old had kidney failure due to being fed something bad by her MIL, was offered a new kidney that same day, went through the transplant and died (?). The person was found to not even have a child in the first place, and alarm bells started ringing when the transplant was mentioned as the baby was far too young!
So there, that's why I am sceptical. I guess it's once bitten, twice shy when being presented with information that doesn't quite seem to add up, and especially in light of RR's recent post.

When my husband was in ICU there were no set visiting hours, it was down to Sister's discretion, as some patients would be close to death, and unfortunately could not be relied on to wait for a last visit at a set time from loved ones....
but we were told that visitors would have to leave if there was an "incident".
I had two young children, and no family support so could only visit while they were at school, the hospital was 15 miles across town, and visiting was much harder for me when he was moved to an ordinary ward with strict visiting hours, but people with difficulties like my own could ask Sister for special permission to visit out of hours.

Ok, im not the sharpest tool in the box, and sat in a freezing cold house, but am i right in thinking that LCN has made all this up or poss over exagerated (sp) on the accident? If so then that is totally sick and the most lowest form of attention seekin i have ever heard.
However i do apologise if im barking up the complete wrong tree and really do hope that DR makes a speedy recovery.

There was a story on there about a girl that had twins, one was seriously deformed and the other was fine, Folk rallyed around for money and nursey items for the girl . Only to be found that she wasn't even pregnant and had no twins . Thats not even half the story .

There would be no harm in LCN letting us know the name of the hospital. It won't compromise DRs privacy in any way as only immediate kin will be able to get any information or if DR is in the ICU be allowed to visit. Perhaps if the name of the hospital is given people will be reassured that this isn't some sick joke. If LCN continues to refuse to give this basic info then I think the whole epidsode has to be viewed with some suspicion.
FWIW this whole thing stinks of a "They'll be sorry" saga, although I have to say I never even realised that DR was deemed a contraversial poster.

What some posters don't realise is there was a huge furore the day before and that is giving some people a better background on the story than others.
No-one is being nasty for nasty's sake, but rather because some stuff was said by DR and LCN that has raised suspicion..

this sniffs of a witch hunt.
there are two possible scenarios.

i'm sickened.
i think kerilli best sums it up when she said she hopes it is made up. i too would rather be a gullible fool than think of someone lying seriously injured in hospital.

No it's baby and bump, but in the same vein as bounty. There was the girl with the baby needing a kidney transplant and the other story I mentioned was a woman pretending to be pregnant and her partner was in a serious car accident, in ICU, being kept in a coma until brain function returned etc. She was 24 weeks pregnant and apparently the stress had caused so much bother that they had to send her for an emergency C-S. The day of the C-S, someone happened to phone her place of work as they were suspicious; she was there, at work when she was meant to be having the C-S. There was no partner, no accident, no baby, no c-s... The money spent on flowers and cards had been wasted. That's why I get suspicious these days.

Yep, totally agree! The thing with the deleted posts in SB being very quickly followed by this, is probably what has made some people a bit more sceptical.

in either case, a load of nasty questioning/bitching on here will not help at all. if the latter, people go over the edge for all sorts of reasons. none of us lot are delicate enough to suffer any mental/emotional damage for being made to look a bit gullible but well-meaning... but ripping her to shreds if she has made it all up just might do her a lot of harm.
i knew someone who did something similar years ago and got so verbally lashed on the forum (not this one) that she started self-harming.... and i saw the scars months later (she'd ended up hospitalised), that wasn't bull****... she could NOT take the nastiness that followed.

Some posters on this forum do not take into account the feelings of the affected person in any way Kerilli, as I found out the other week when I posted something highly emotional and sensitive on a night when I was feeling suicidal. Several posters interpreted my post and made assumptions about what THEY thought I was saying, and had to keep hammering their point home as I got more and more desperate.
I have never been someone who will 'hold on' to things with this forum, it is just a forum to me, but I have since found that I will never forgive those people.
Luckily a much bigger majority of people were incredibly wonderful and supportive, I was inundated with PMs and messages of support, which was fantastic.
I might add that the people questioning this matter are in the second category not the first!

I do sort of agree to be honest, hence I said I was feeling mean to be sceptical.
I really do only feel this way because I've been bitten in a big way twice in recent weeks, and on one of those occasions was quite involved with the person in question so was quite upset by what happened. HOWEVER, I do understand and agree with most of everything you have said.

It was I, to whom the original PM was sent and it did make me think that if the small minority of us who are sceptical are right, it may actually turn out to be bad for DR to see us all blatantly disbelieveing her.
I know that all of you who have chatted to me about it are all motivated to question it not because you are nasty people but because we are trying to protect the forum from people making a fool of us.
But as Kerilli points out above if DR is lying, she's very very disturbed and thinking of that makes me feel bad for even mentioning the errors in the story etc, because it pales into insignificance next to what would have to be wrong with her to do such a thing.
My last point, is a passing one but to also save the 'non-believers' from having stick here too...IMO and I think I am a good one to say this - if you troll and or be nasty to people out of turn, you cannot be wholly surprised when people treat you with suspicion and unkindness.

The third scenario is that the poster isn't injured, & isn't severely deluded, just immature & deliberately set out to make those who may not have treated her that gently on the deleted thread "sorry". I'm quite happy to be sympathetic no matter what the truth behind all this is, but if it is the third set of circumstances I would think an apology is in order from those involved? It is possible to do stupid things without actually being mentally ill/unbalanced !! However for anyone to hold a grudge should this turn out to be the case would be pointless.

I am not sure a natural desire to know the truth is acting like "a load of rabid hyenas".
I was one that immediately sent good wishes when I saw the post yesterday. I don't have any idea what had gone on before and if this does turn out to be made up (which I kindof hope it is) then I feel very sad for the people involved.
That said, I would still like to know what has really happened and if people are prepared to follow it up then let's have the truth!!
