An update on DunRoamin

Ok I'll say my piece...

I see both sides!
I'll start by saying I wish DR the best in whatever, you are right Kerilli in that whichever way this turns out she seems to need some help
frown.gif

I really don't think people are trying to be intentionally nasty, just a fair amount of people have other information on this which isn't for us to post on a forum, and is either not true, or very bad timing!

DR deserved to get banned the other night, LCN made a few posts which only worsened the matter, and resulted in suspicions that LCN is DR.

It seems LCN could answer a few questions to clear it up, but is avoiding doing so.

We all need the truth, and tbh it's not going to just go away until people get the truth, whether this is it or not.

I also agree with what Kitsune and Zebedee have said.

I wasn't sure whether to post this or not, but have been advised in a pm that it might help.
the way i see it, either way, DunRoamin is in deep ****.
either she's seriously injured in hospital, or she's deluded/upset enough to have made up this whole elaborate attention-seeking faradiddle of bull****.
in either case, a load of nasty questioning/bitching on here will not help at all. if the latter, people go over the edge for all sorts of reasons. none of us lot are delicate enough to suffer any mental/emotional damage for being made to look a bit gullible but well-meaning... but ripping her to shreds if she has made it all up just might do her a lot of harm.
i knew someone who did something similar years ago and got so verbally lashed on the forum (not this one) that she started self-harming.... and i saw the scars months later (she'd ended up hospitalised), that wasn't bull****... she could NOT take the nastiness that followed.
hope you can see what i'm saying. either way, for DR's sake, i wish people would be nice... and if the story about her dad was true, that kind of upbringing would not lend itself to good self-image, normalcy, etc etc, so i do feel sorry for her, and i for one can cope with being made to look like a stupid prat!
so, can we not behave like a load of rabid hyenas here please...

Yes I agree, I am rather surprised by all of this. However, mental illness is a terribly sad thing and not easily understood by some. My mum suffered depression for most of my teenage years, and she fights it now and is better, but she is easily knocked. So for me, I have some first hand experience of mental health issues and find it very sad. As perfectly put by kerilli here, if this is not true, it is indeed terribly terribly sad that she would make it up and should be treated very carefully indeed if that was the case. I have no idea what the truth is but either way, it is sad

More good luck and get well wishes winging there way to DR.
Thankyou for keeping us updated.

Hi, sorry to hear about your experience with mental illness.

I just wanted to add, however, without wishing to aim at anyone in particular, that just because some of us have questioned certain things, it doesn't mean we don't have personal experience of mental illness ourselves or that we don't understand it. In some ways, that makes it harder for me to understand why someone would make this up... having been very badly affected by mental illness and hospitalised, I could not have imagined doing anything like what DR has been accused of doing. I was also one of the people that PMd Splotchy when she was getting a raw deal in SB a few weeks back (as has been mentioned on this thread). I guess having had mental illness, I've read what Kerilli has said and it's made me feel bad about doubting DR (although I did already initially say I felt mean for being sceptical in the first place), and also reminded me that there are very many different types of mental illness and that they affect people in different ways. It's not an excuse, though, and neither is family upbringing: many of us have also had similar family backgrounds.

I sincerely hope that DR is/will be OK and that LCN will at some point update people here.

can i just say that while i did use the words "attention-seeking", "deluded/upset" i didn't actually intend to imply that she's mental!
was just trying to stop people from being nasty in their questionings, having seen in the past what can happen... hope i haven't made things even worse!
i agree that we need to hear the truth... in time we will.
fwiw she texted a friend of mine "from hospital" last night and said that she had "a few broken bones", maybe LCN got the bit about ICU wrong, who knows?!
btw, i've been in a normal ward the first night after a smash-up and then shifted fast to ICU when they suddenly realised i'd taken an unexpected turn for the worst...

I must have skirted over that as I didn't read your post as being derogatory towards her state of mind.

All I will say is that I agree with what you wrote and it did make me think about the fact that I've had illness myself and could think of this from a different perspective because of what you said.

LCN went to visit her today, surely she knows what part she was in?
Also, LCN said she was half conscious, and her sister has her phone...

I am a member of another forum and a few months ago a member called Lynne2 joined and told us all about her illness , we sympathised ( it is a forum for people with crohns disease) and she was telling us about going for an Op . The next day her 'sister' done a post saying Lynn has sadly passd away during surgery , not a surprise tbh as crohns can weaken you considerably and she was apparently having a really rough time with it . We soon discovered things didnt add up and found out Lynn2 was alive and well , and probably never even had crohns to start off with .

A similar incident has happened to me in RL . When I was getting ill again a 'friend' confinded in me and others that she had a rare heart conditiona and was going to die if she did not get a transplant . She kept this going for almost a year and was very convincing . I was very sick and in hospital alot at the time and was worried about her . A few months ago a friends mum phoned her mum and it turns out there is nothing wrong with her and it was all lies .

Sorry to go off track

I have no idea if DunRoamin is in hospital or anything and if the injurys are as bad as Lacosanostra says that i truely hope she gets better soon and wish her well . But if this is another forum 'joke' then it wouldnt be the first time for me

Im also a member on another forum (parenting) and a lady there told us all she'd been a victim of arson and that she'd lost everything. Everyone chipped in and we later found out it'd been totally untrue. I always tend to have a sceptical mind, and saw the thread the other day. TBH when the threads go bad they do tend to turn into agressive posts from DR, which might be a sign of problems deeper down.

I don't imagine IF it was an untruth it'd be done with a 'need for attention', more of a 'I'll show em' stance. Lets not forget this is a poster who claims to have had a family member murdered and thus giving herreason to be disgustingly racist and abusive towards other members.

I thought her sister was replying to texts??

On the flipside, the injuries given sound horrendous, though it's suprising how quickly a person can 'come round' enough to speak.

I pray to God she isnt hurt....
