She is still on box rest with her laminitis but has been diagnosed with Cushings
She has no signs of Cushings (apart from having laminitis) so I was shocked when the result came back positive, especially as Sox had nearly all the signs of laminitis and his test came back negative
The vet came back out on Tuesday to hoof test, have an update and give me the Prascend plus more bute.
She has been brought back down to one bute a day as she was broncing around her stable when other horses went off the yard, although shes still doing it on one bute a day!
She still has slight pulses in her fronts but they are better than they were.
The vet has said she cant go out for a while yet and they are coming back in 4 weeks to check her again, then in 6 weeks to do more bloods to check how the tablets are working.
Unfortunately for her we arent able to keep another in with her overnight, we did at the start but I think she was worse when they were then turned out in the mornings, Im just trying to find other things to occupy her though she seems quite happy been in on her own on a big deep bed.
The vet has said to leave her shoes off for a while as she seems comfortable barefoot, although has said shell need heart bar shoes.
She is currently having 3 small nets a day in haynets with small holes or double netted (she still eats them as quick if they are double netted, even the smaller ones). She is also having a quarter of a Stubbs scoop (soaked weight) twice a day with her bute and a scoop of vitamin and mineral supplement (one scoop in each feed).
She has been a very good patient though even taking the tablet straight off my hand as if its a treat, she was perfect for her x-rays to.
This is the x-ray of her left foot which is the only one with rotation:
And being her usual dufus self
