Hi,
I thought Id share about how my wobbly baby ponies are getting a little less wobbly!!!
Spotty Dottie had a fat leg after Christmas which meant she was off games for a while. I tried to make it better and made it rather a lot worse but after many scans, xrays etc and talk of damaged tendons or possibly needing surgery it was decided at the horsepital that all was well and I could start doing some walking on her and turn her out. Safe to say she was pretty happy about that!!
A month of walking (and meeting strange animals)
and it was time to bring her back to work properly. She has been feeling strong, with quite a lot of rudeness and most of all tons of fun!! Im another month or 2 along now so she has just started jumping again..
And doing some more proper (well for a 4yo!) schooling/dressing up like a Barbie pony!!
So compared to Christmas time about worrying that she might be horribly broken I am very
that it all seems to be going well <crosses fingers>
The proper wobbly one who is called Bailey but has been nicknamed Bug has been busy learning to be a grown up horse! I backed him in the Autumn. He has had some saddle/teeth issues but that seems to be much improved too. He enjoyed the snow
Since I last mentioned him he has been hacking...
Been to some dressage clinics/trying on posh tack!
He has been trying some jumping on the lunge as he's not the most natural jumper with me on (although I think a lot of that might of been the saddle) He is improving a lot.
He has been getting stronger on the flat (and these were taken a month or so ago)
And has been improving nicely over some fences
So I am thrilled with him too
Mostly its just nice to think that I don't have to hold the neck strap nearly as much!! Couple that with the fact they are both feeling more like grown ups than wobbly babies and the fact that I might even get to do some eventing (no matter how small!) this year!!
The sad (but happy really) point is that just as they are getting grown up I have a very floofy 3 year old to start again soon so the wobbling/neck strap grabbing will be back!!!!
Hopefully some more jumping practice, then some dressage/SJ comps and then hopefully some baby eventing.
Will include my picture I had done because I love love love it and it sums my (slightly less) wobbly baby ponies up so well
