It seems I was fooled by the base of the ears method to check if a horse is cold. Checked behind my horses elbow today to see how warm she was after being told yesterday that this was the way of checking if she is cold, and this evening she was lovley and warm behind her elbow with no rug on! So perhaps I don't have a wuss of a horse, she is wearing a lightweight tonight just because she wore her h/w last night and her m/w for a few nights before, but if she's too warm under that in the morning, tomorrow night she can just wear her sheet. Glad I found that out, have always gone by the ears and have never thought about it! You learn something new everyday
