Hi,
Apart from EIA, what can cause anaemia in horses? I ask because my pony nearly collapsed in the field on Saturday. She was running a temp, and had fast shallow resp rate. Vet came and took bloods, and gave shot of antibiotics and something to bring her temp down. She has perked up, and is on 5 day course of antibiotics. Blood results came back normal for white blood cell count, but did show she was borderline anaemic. Have got Redcell on vets advice, and am now waiting to see what happens over the next couple of days. Its not nice seeing my pony's legs buckling under her, and her struggling to stand.
BTW she had a annual flu and tet booster on Friday.
